The last few years, I have tried to lessen my impact on Earth by making more Eco-friendly purchasing decisions. This includes using products that are reusable or made from renewable resources. I think one of my biggest culprits is the kitchen. Having kids in the home for over 20 years has created a smorgasbord of plastic cartoon dishware. I resolved to the fact that if it was breakable, it would never last through six kids.
Oh silly, silly me! If I knew then, what I know now, I would have invested in bamboo kitchenware long ago! It is not only a renewable resource but it is durable enough that it can take on my crazy, little monkey’s…and come out shining!
Bamboo is an amazing renewable resource and one that I will making an effort to support. Just check out what Core Bamboo has to say about fast growing plant on their website.
Bamboo is one of the most remarkable resources on Earth. As a member of the grass family, not a tree, it grows at a much quicker rate than any other wood. From start to harvest (60-70 feet tall) it can take just four years. Bamboo is naturally anti-microbial, therefore stopping bacteria from growing. It is also one of the strongest yet lightest materials around. Bamboo is 16% stronger than Maple and is 33% lighter in weight than Oak. What is probably most remarkable is its unique extensive root system. When bamboo is harvested its natural root system spreads and automatically regenerates itself.
Core Bamboo takes bamboo products to the next level by offering the most fabulous color options to match any decor, including my absolute favorite color, Orange!
We recently had the opportunity to try the Bucket Bowl and a set of four small bowls from Core Bamboo and I couldn’t be more impressed!
The Large Bucket Bowl comes in seven fun colors and is crafted from 100% organically grown bamboo.
I think one of my favorite things about this bowl is the unique design. The handles make it easy to take from the kitchen out to the patio for a party or BBQ. The Bucket Bowl is stylish and large enough to accommodate anything you serve. I made a macaroni salad in it just today and I can’t tell you how much I appreciated the handles when transferring the leftover’s to a storage bowl.
The Set of Four Small Bamboo Bowls are absolutely perfect for cereal, chips & dips, snacks or anything! They nest inside each easily to make storage a breeze!
I have had so much fun using both these products and am excited to add even more in the near future. They are extremely durable so I have no doubt that they will last for quite some time. I also feel better that I am using a product that was made from a renewal resource and will leave less of an impact of earth.
