As a former teacher and a parent, I am always looking for educational toys and activities which will not only entertain my children, but also stimulate their brains, and teach them something while they are having fun! I had the opportunity to try out a great educational and learning play kit created by Wondermind Kids!
My daughter loved the educational toy that accompanied the kit. It had two main functions. One was a time, which counted down with red lights as time passed. This would be great for children as learn concepts of time. This would also be an excellent tool for a teacher in a classroom utilizing these materials in a learning center! The other educational purpose of the toy is to help children learn to tell time. The hands of the clock move to different times, and if the child positions the hand on the hour and pushes the button, the toy will announce the time. Also, in the little dial across the top, there are pictures of activities that might occur at that hour, such as waking up, bath time, or bed time. I though this was extremely helpful in teaching my daughter the concept of a.m and p.m, which can be tricky for young children.
Overall, Wondermind was a great, engaging tool to use with your children. The DVD was fun and interactive, and the parent’s guide and workbook for full of excellent information. I definitely recommend this for parents looking for a structured way to encourage learning in young children!
